Ranking of general circulation models for Surat City by using a hybrid approach

Abstract Climate change is expected to worsen flood risks by increasing precipitation in and around Surat City. Thus, study the effect of climate on City's stormwater drainage network, ranking general circulation models (GCMs) generation future annual maximum rainfall series needed, which has not been performed any reviewed present using a hybrid approach. The ‘hybrid approach’ refers combination past performance approach used for GCMs envelope based projections. To rank 21 belonging Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5, employed four indicators, are evaluated basis Surat's simulated observed monthly data corresponding period 1969–2005. By an entropy method, weights assigned different indicators then employing TOPSIS method. top five ranked generate Reliability Ensemble Averaging method Representative Concentration Pathways scenarios 4.5 8.5. This will be helpful hydrologic studies area.
